Written, Produced, Directed and Edited by Mary Holland.
In her Dialogue film at NYFA, Mary set out to explore the intricate layers of identity, desire, and the often unspoken boundaries we navigate in our relationships. The narrative centers on a married woman who, while appearing content in her established life, finds herself drawn to an unexpected emotional and physical connection with her best friend. Many individuals come to recognize aspects of themselves later in life, often in a way that challenges one’s own personal expectations. This film aims to capture that complex, often disorienting journey of self-discovery and the courage it takes to embrace one’s true self. By bringing this narrative to the screen, Mary hopes to foster a dialogue about the human need to feel fully seen.
